Hangin' Out and Helpin" Out

There you are riding down a trail totally in control. Then up and over a ridge only to find that the trail isn't what you thought, but at the rate of speed and course you've chosen it's too late. Next thing you know you're on your back! Fortuntely for us we have several friends here to notice when we've fallen and to help us up.
This is true for us on our spiritual ride. Just when we think things are going fine the ride turns into something we didn't expect. At
the rate we are are going we are committed to the ride and to the fall. But in life, will the friends we have know that we've fallen and most importantly will they help us up? Surrounding ourselves with other men of God and becoming intimately involved with them (sharing openly and honestly) will help them to know when you, in your spirirtual life, are begining to fall or when you have fallen.
Men, I challenge you to engage your Christian brothers! Loving eachother, watching over eachother, protecting eachother and encouraging eachother to be Wild At Heart!

Are you in?

Todays ride took us outside of Brazil Indiana where the ride was hard and very technical. Many times we stopped to review how we would navigate down the run with bike in tact. Sometimes that meant knowing how to dismount in order to stay intact. The hill we decided to conquer was far from easy, but to us seemed rather rideable and fun. Standing at the top and making the concious decision to "drop in" is sometimes harder than it looks. Once you have made the decision to "drop in" total dedication is required. Should you decide to "drop in" and half way down give up, you may find yourself facing some serious delimas. The same is true about our walk with christ. He requires total dedication and even more obedience.

Deuteronomy 6:5 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.

God requires an all or nothing attitude. In front of our children, in front of our friends and in front of our families. Most importantly, when no one is around. This is the true character of integrity.

Make the decision to live it all or nothing for Christ, our Lord and Savior, in our everyday life and thoughts and you will not fall. The path beneathe your feet may slip and becaome uneven, but you will not fall.

Once again, you who choose to be men of God, I applaud you for living Wild at Heart!

New Territory

Over the last couple of weeks, we have been developing skills and learning new technique that allows us to go faster and navigate through the terrain with a hightened sense of confidence. We feel this way because we have been riding the same pace for weeks now, but what about when we go some place new? The skills will come with us, therefore the confidence should come also, right? You would think so, but that's not always the case. So what do we do to prepare for such a ride or adventure? We study maps and seek out those who have gone before. Usually someone who has been there will be excited to guide you through the territory and teach you what they know and how to naviagte the territory they have been through.

1 Peter 5:1-2 states "To the elders among you, I appeal as a fellow elder, a wittness of Christ's sufferings and one who also will share in the glory to be revealed. Be shepards' (guides) of God's flock that is under your care, serving as overseers-not because you must, but because you are willing as God wants you to be..."

These guides choose to teach us how to understand the map and use it in our journey into the New Territory. Hmm, sound familiar once again? Like those of us in the church and our responsibilty? I encourage you men of God who CHOOSE to learn the new territory and CHOOSE to be Wild at Heart!

All or Nothing

It all started with a simple bike ride, but the Lord had greater things in mind for us. Drawing us closer together and allowing is to experience the sensation of pushing our physical limitations and overcoming the fears associated with the unknown. We put ourselves in dangerous situations only to have the "All or Nothing" perspective overcome our fears and prove to ourselves that it can be done! Hmm, sound familiar. Like our journey with Christ? I am impressed with you men of God who, weekly, ride fearlessly and experience what it means to be truly Wild at Heart! Keep it up!
